PCOS Holiday Gift Guide

Do you want to surprise that special someone in your life that has PCOS? Let this gift guide fill you in on some of my favorite things that might add a little ease to your loved one’s life. This guide is also fun if you’re like me and love to #treatyourself during the holiday season! Here is a list of my top gift recommendations for someone with PCOS in 2023.

CTOAN Co Candles

Unfortunately many people with PCOS don’t see their body size and shape represented in media or art, so intentionally surrounding yourself with body positive imagery can make all the difference in seeing the beauty of all bodies. CTOAN Co is a small-owned business that celebrates size diversity and has a beautiful holiday line. I particularly love their Season of Giving “Angel” candle (pictured here). It comes in two holiday scents and colors. The silver one reminds me of my Renaissance concert outfits (IYKYK).

Revol Cares Period Underwear

It’s all too common to experience irregular periods and heavy bleeding with PCOS. Period undergarments can offer a comfortable alternative to traditional period products.  Revol Cares sells extra comfy and cute period underwear for different flows and overall period needs. They carry sizes XS to 7X, making them one of the most size-inclusive period underwear brands. If you aren’t sure what size, style, or flow would be best for your loved one, consider purchasing a gift card

Fun Pill Box

One lesser-known effect of PCOS is forgetfulness. This can make taking medications and supplements quite a challenging habit! A fun pill box can make this process a little less mundane and can also be a great stocking stuffer. I recommend opting for a larger pill box as some of those PCOS supplements take up quite a bit of space.

DIY Tea Gift Basket

One of my favorite things to give others is a homemade gift basket. It’s love personalizing them and making them extra special around the holidays. A tea gift basket is a great gift for that special someone in your life who has PCOS. Spearmint tea can be helpful for those that want to lower their testosterone levels, and green tea can help to reduce inflammation. Add a basket, tissue paper, tea biscuits, a mug, and honey for a thoughtful gift for someone that loves to curl up with a good cup of tea.

The Art of Body Acceptance by Ashlee Bennett

This book is a must-have for anyone who appreciates how complex body image can be. Many PCOS symptoms affect appearance and can add a lot of pressure to try to conform to societal beauty standards. I appreciate this review of the book by Nedra Glover Tawwab, LCSW "Ashlee has a gentle way of guiding you toward learning to love and appreciate your body. The activities in this book will help you dig deep and grow in your understanding of your body and self-love.”

Gift Card for a Massage or Spa Day

Many of us who have PCOS also experience fatigue. It can leave us feeling like we are always racing to catch up with the rest of the world. This can make the holiday season particularly exhausting. I always find it helpful to give myself a spa day during or after the holidays to offer a little rest and rejuvenation for my body and mind. If your loved one is in the greater New York area, I recommend a gift card to Sojo Spa Club. Before purchasing this gift please take a moment to consider your loved one’s needs (size-inclusive, LGBTQ+ aligned, trauma-informed masseuse, etc).

I hope this gift guide helps to make this season extra special for you and your loved ones with PCOS. Happy Holidays from Body Honor Nutrition!
